Duke University Health System and its communities -- a report on community benefit

To provide a better understanding of DUHS's contributions to its communities, we annually produce a Report on Community Benefit.

The report provides details of the formally defined components of DUHS's Community Benefit (charity care, Medicaid program losses, health professions education, contributions to community groups, and community health assessment activities) as well as additional community investments (Medicare program losses and bad debt), which totaled $258 million in the fiscal year ended June 30, 2010.
