About Me

I am honored to be a part of women’s lives when they’re going through exciting changes and sometimes sad changes as well, such as miscarriage and pregnancy loss. It can be an exciting, emotional time. I really enjoy getting to know my patients throughout their whole life, whether it’s her first OB/GYN visit to having her first baby to menopause. My clinical interests are general obstetrics, recurrent pregnancy loss, contraception and family planning. I work with our residency program in our family planning clinic where I am the director, and I am also associate residency director. I grew up on a small farm in western North Carolina and went to undergraduate at UNC-Chapel Hill. After undergraduate school, I joined the Peace Corps and went to Ecuador, then came back to the area for medical school. My husband and I have a two year old son who takes up the bulk or our time and consumes a lot of our energy. I have learned a lot from having a son that I put to use in my in practice in obstetrics and how I take care of women in pregnancy.

Ratings and Reviews

The Patient Rating score is an average of all responses to care provider related questions on our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Learn more about our survey process. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
