The Triangle region of North Carolina is one of the fastest growing areas in the nation, and Duke Medicine is growing right along with it.
Current construction activities and projects are helping Duke Medicine create and improve facilities in which we provide our world-class care.
Construction activities include:
- A new 267,000-square-foot patient-centered comprehensive ambulatory Cancer Center is scheduled to be completed in 2012. Read more.
- The Duke Medicine Pavilion, a modernization and expansion of Duke University Hospital’s critical care, surgery and state-of-the-art imaging facilities, is scheduled to be completed in 2013. Read more.
- The historic Bell Building has been retired and taken down to make way for the Cancer Center and Duke Medicine Pavilion buildings.
- An underground utility tunnel is being constructed to provide a dedicated, protected space for the important utilities and steam tunnels that supply the Duke University Medical Center and East Campus.
- The new Research Drive Parking Structure (PG-9) will be completed in December 2009.
