Medicine Made Personal Event a Success

More than 100 friends of Duke Medicine attended the May 15, 2008 event, Medicine Made Personal, hosted by Chancellor for Health Affairs Victor J. Dzau, MD, and R. Sanders "Sandy" Williams, MD.

The program featured presentations by two Duke faculty members, Christopher O'Connor, MD, director of the Duke Heart Center, and Tannishtha Reya, PhD, co-director of the Duke Stem Cell Research program, as well as a presentation by Duke University sophomore Josh Sommer, who is currently conducting research at Duke on his own rare form of cancer, chordoma.

Josh and his mother, Simone Sommer, MD, founded the Chordoma Foundation to raise money for chordoma research.
