Duke Endowment Up 24 Percent

Duke University Endowment - A Snapshot

We’re pleased to report that, as of June 30, 2011, the value of Duke University’s endowment increased by 24.5 percent over last year. The university’s endowment is composed of more than 4,000 individual funds totaling approximately $5.7 billion.
 
The mission of Duke University’s endowment is to support the people, programs, and activities of Duke University in perpetuity. Over the years, growth of the endowment through investment gains and charitable giving has enabled Duke University and Duke Medicine to provide scholarships and fellowships to students, build faculty excellence, invest in promising basic and clinical research, launch new programs in community and global health, and support a wide range of important needs.
