Class of 2009 MSIV Gift Campaign

As we undertake this brand new project - a gift from the graduating class to what will soon be our alma mater - please keep in mind the following ways we can impact our school of medicine for many years to come:

The Duke Medical Annual Fund

The cost of educating a medical student is very high.  Tuition covers roughly one third of the expense and a considerable portion of the remainder is made up by philanthropy.  Last year, 2,295 donors gave $1,697,732 in unrestricted dollars to the Medical Annual Fund - dollars that went straight to our education.

The New Medical Student Learning Center

In the early stages of design, the new school of medicine building is at the top of the list of priorities for Duke University.  The building will create centralized, state-of-the-art facilities that will create a new sense of community and provide students with the resources and cutting-edge teaching that is expected of a world-class medical school.  The Davison Building was built with the philanthropy of Mr. James B. Duke in the 1920s and 30s.  This once-in-a-century project is our chance to leave a lasting impression on our medical alma mater for the next 100 years.
